Ingredients
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 c water
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ¼ cup butter
- 6 medium apples
- Crust:
- 2 c flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ¾ cup shortening
- ½ cup milk
Instructions
Heat sugar, water, spices, and butter in saucepan to make a syrup and let cool slightly
Peel and core apples
Make crust like a pie crust
Roll crust to about ⅛ inch and place apples on sections (making 6 sections)
Pour some syrup into core
Fold up crust around apple and place in 9x13 baking dish
Pour remaining syrup around them
Bake 375० for 35 minutes or more
