Apple Dumplings

French’s

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 c water
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 6 medium apples
  • Crust:
  • 2 c flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¾ cup shortening
  • ½ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Heat sugar, water, spices, and butter in saucepan to make a syrup and let cool slightly

  2. Peel and core apples

  3. Make crust like a pie crust

  4. Roll crust to about ⅛ inch and place apples on sections (making 6 sections)

  5. Pour some syrup into core

  6. Fold up crust around apple and place in 9x13 baking dish

  7. Pour remaining syrup around them

  8. Bake 375० for 35 minutes or more
