Ingredients
- 1 pkg German Chocolate
- ½ cup boiling water
- 1 c butter
- 4 unbeaten egg yolks
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 ½ cup cake flour
- 1 c buttermilk
- 2 c sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 4 egg whites (beaten)
Instructions
Melt chocolate in water
Cream butter and sugar
Add egg yolks and beat
Add melted chocolate and vanilla
Mix well
Sift dry ingredients add alternately with buttermilk
Beat well
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites
Pour into 3 8-9 inch round prepared pans and bake at 350⁰ for 30-40 minutes
