Quick Bbq Beans

This is quick in that it uses canned beans and can be made in about 30 minutes, but cooking it for an hour or two does produce a much better dish.


  • 6-10 strips Thick Cut Bacon, diced
  • 1 large Yellow Onion, diced
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, diced
  • 2 Jalapeno, diced (seeded if you prefer less heat)
  • 6oz Beer (Optional), cheap yellow beer is just fine
  • 2 16oz cans Pinto Beans, rinsed
  • 1 16oz can Kidney Beans, rinsed
  • 1 16oz can White Beans, rinsed
  • 1 ½ c Favorite BBQ sauce ( I use Sweet Baby Rays)
  • ¼ c cider vinegar


  1. Heat a pot over medium

  2. Add bacon and cook until near done, not crispy (4 minutes)

  3. Add onion, and bell pepper and cook until tender (5 minutes)

  4. Add Jalapeno and cook for 1-2 minutes

  5. Deglaze pan with beer and cook for another minute

  6. Add beans, BBQ sauce, and vinegar

  7. Bring to a boil

  8. Cover and reduce heat to simmer and cook for 20 minutes

  9. Reduce heat to low and cook for 1 - 1.5 hours (optional)
