Daffodil Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup egg whites
  • 1 ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cream of tarter
  • 6 egg yolks
  • ½ cup cake flour (white part)
  • ½ tsp vanilla white part)
  • 2/3 c cake flour (yellow part)
  • ½ tsp orange extract in yellow part

Instructions

  1. Put egg whites in large bowl.

  2. Beat until foamy and salt and cream of tarter.

  3. Beat until stiff

  4. Fold in sugar and divide into two parts

  5. First part: white

  6. Add ½ cup cake flour and ½ tsp vanilla

  7. Second part: yellow

  8. Add 6 beaten egg yolks and 2/3 cup cake flour, and orange extract

  9. Alternate spoonfuls in angel food cake pan.

  10. Bake at 325⁰ for 1 hour
