Pea Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ c Split Peas
  • 2 qt water
  • 1 Ham Bone
  • 1 c Ham
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2-3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2-3 carrots, chopped
  • 1 potato diced
  • 2 tsp salt to taste
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp Thyme
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 8 sprigs of parsley
  • 2 bay leaves (do not eat)

Instructions

  1. Soak peas in water overnight or while cooking 2 quarts of water and ham bone together for 1 ½ hours in large pot. Removed meat from ham bone and add all ingredients. Cook until peas are mush.
