Ginger Punch

I look forward to this drink and a hammock every summer.

Ingredients

  • * 2 cups water
  • * 1/2 cup sugar
  • * 2 (1 inch) pieces crystallized ginger
  • * 4 cinnamon sticks
  • *
  • * 3 cups orange juice
  • * 1 cup pineapple juice
  • * 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • * 1 liter lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage

Instructions

  1. In a sauce pan, combine water, sugar, crystallized ginger and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.

  2. Pour syrup into a pitcher. Add orange, pineapple and lemon juice. Chill in refrigerator. When ready to serve, pour into a punch bowl and slowly add the lemon-lime soda.

  3. I found it tastes best if you let it sit for a day or two.
