Chocolate Mung

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ c sugar, divided
  • 1 c all purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1/3 c melted butter
  • ½ c packed Light brown sugar
  • 7 tbsp cocoa, divided
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • ½ c milk
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ¼ c hot water

Instructions

  1. Heat Oven to 350 deg F

  2. In medium mixing bowl, combine ¾ cup sugar, flour, 3 tbsp cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Blend in milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.

  3. Pour batter into square pan, 8x8x2 or 9x9x2.

  4. In a small bowl combine remaining ½ cup sugar, brown sugar and remaining 4 tbsp cocoa. Sprinkle mixture evenly over batter.

  5. Pour hot water over top. Do not stir !

  6. bake 40 min or until center is almost set.

  7. Let stand 15 min; spoon into dessert dishes, spooning sauce from bottom of pan over top.
