Celery Carrot Cumin Margarita



  • 2/3 c sugar
  • 2/3 c water
  • 2/3 c celery with some leaves, finely chopped

Drink Mix:

  • 1 ½ c tequila
  • 1 c orange liqueur (such as Cointreau)
  • 1 ¼ c fresh lime juice
  • 2 c carrot juice

Glass Rim:

  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 2 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp ground cumin


  • Ice cubes
  • Celery sticks, for garnish


  1. For the syrup, add chopped celery to sugar and water. In a large jar with a tight-fitting lid, vigorously shake syrup ingredients until the sugar dissolves, about 1 minute. Strain the syrup into a pitcher.

  2. Add all drink ingredients to the pitcher; stir.

  3. To rim the glass, mix salt and cumin. Put lime juice on one plate and salt mix on another plate. Dip the rims of 8 glasses into the lime juice, then into the salt mix.

  4. Fill the glasses with ice, then add the margarita. Garnish with celery sticks.
