These “cheesy†flaky biscuits take less than 30 minutes to make and are perfect with soup, salad, and pasta.
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ c all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- Pinch of salt
- ¼ c cold margarine
- 2/3 c soy milk
- 1 tbsp melted margarine
- 1 tbsp garlic salt
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, nutritional yeast, Italian seasoning, and salt. Using a pastry blender or 2 butter knives, cut in the cold margarine until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the soy milk and mix until the flour is moistened.
On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough until smooth. Roll out into a 10x6" rectangle. Cut into 1" strips.
Place the strips 2" apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Brush with the melted margarine and sprinkle with the garlic salt.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until lightly browned.
