Pizza On The Grill

A great way to spice up an old favorite.


  • CRUST:
  • 1 pkg (1/4 oz) active dry yeast
  • 1 c warm water (110° to 115°F)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 3/4 to 3 C all-purpose flour
  • Veggies, sauce, vegan creative!


  1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Add the oil, sugar, baking soda, salt and 2 C flour. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.

  2. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.

  3. On a floured surface, roll dough into a 13-inch circle. Transfer to a greased 12-inch pizza pan. Build up edges slightly.

  4. Grill, covered, over medium heat for 5 minutes. Remove from grill. Spread on sauce, then top with veggies and vegan cheese.

  5. Grill, covered, 5-10 minutes longer or until crust is golden and vegan cheese is melted.

  6. Yield: 4 servings
