A french toast you can prepare the night before and bake in the morning.
- 1 loaf french bread (or any kind of bread you like)
- 8 eggs
- 2 c. milk
- 1 ½ c. cream
- 2 t. vanilla
- ¼ t. cinnamon
- ¾ c. butter
- 1 1/3 c. Sucanat (brown sugar can be substituted, but its not as good)
- 3 T. maple syrup
- peaches or other fruit (optional)
Butter a 9x13 baking dish.
Arrange the bread to cover the bottom.
In a large bowl, beat together eggs, milk, cream, vanilla, cinnamon.
Pour over bread, cover and refrigerate overnight.
Measure topping ingredients into a small saucepan, cover and set on stove.
Next morning preheat oven to 350.
Heat topping ingredients until bubbling. Pour over bread and egg.
Bake uncovered about 40 minutes.
