Chocolate Chai Tea


  • 1&1/3 c. boiling water
  • 3 tea bags
  • ¼ c. sugar
  • 2&2/3 Tbs. cocoa powder
  • 5&1/2 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/3 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/3 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/3 tsp. ground cardamon
  • Heavy whipping cream (optional)


  1. Pour boiling water over tea bags in large saucepan. Cover & let stand 4-6 min. Remove tea bags. Stir in sugar & cocoa powder. Cook & stir over medium heat just until mixture comes to boiling;reduce heat. Stir in rest of ingredients except whipping cream. Heat through, but do not boil. Pour into mugs, dollop with whipped cream if desired.
