- 2 c flour
- ½ c unsalted butter, room temperature
- ½ c milk
- 1 Egg, lightly whisked
- ½ c sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl, add shortening or margarine and work it in with your hands. Gradually blend in the milk and egg. Make 10-12 dough balls and set aside. Start heating a griddle pan or comal to medium heat.
With a tortilla press or a flat plate, take 1 dough ball and place between plastic sheets. Flatten to about 3.5" diameter.
Cook on a hot griddle for 1 or 2 minutes on each side until nicely browned. Serve warm with butter or dulce De Leche.
