Granola

One of the best granola recipes I've ever had! It was a staple growing up.

Ingredients

  • 8 c rolled oats, not quick oats
  • 1 c almonds or walnuts
  • 1 c wheat germ
  • 1 c sunflower seeds
  • ½ c agave nectar
  • ½ c oil
  • ½ c brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 ½ c raisins or diced prunes

Instructions

  1. Combine first four ingredients.

  2. In a saucepan, combine agave, oil, sugar and vanilla. Heat, but don't boil. Add liquid to the oat mixture. Stir until well blended.

  3. Spread on two cookie sheets that are sprayed with non-stick cooking oil.

  4. Bake at 325°F for 20-25 minutes. Stir a couple times during baking time.

  5. Add raisins or prunes after coming out of the oven.

  6. Cool and store in airtight container.
