Irish Soda Bread

A moist, but heavy bread. Great toasted!

Ingredients

  • 3 3/4 c. fresh ground flour
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1/2 t. baking soda
  • 1 - 2 T. honey
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients.

  2. Add honey and buttermilk and knead slightly.

  3. Shape into a round about 1 ½ inches thick.

  4. Slash X across the top.

  5. Bake on greased cookie sheet or pie pan at 375 until done (about 45 minutes)
